Eric Chen

Principal

Eric Chen obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in 1986. He graduated with full honors and was named to both the Deans Honor List and the Presidents Honor List. After graduation, Eric worked as a designer at Collaborative Design in Los Angeles before joining JWDA as a lead designer in 1991. In 1995, Eric joined RTKL Associates where he worked as a lead designer until 1999, when he was invited to rejoin JWDA as a partner. In 2004, building on the successful effort of a Southern California real estate development company to retain him to directly manage a portfolio of key projects, Eric left JWDA to establish CDA.

Eric has more than twenty-seven years of experience in the field of architecture. His talent, knowledge, and expertise in design are reflected in his work. Working through various projects, he has built a strong connection within the community and strives to build lasting friendships. He has received many awards and recognition among his peers and clients; these include the Design Village Award, the Merit Award of Design, and the Gold Nugget Grand Award.

 

Kenneth Pang

Vice President

Kenneth Pang is a licensed architect in California and Texas, lead designer, and Vice President for Creative Design Associates. He obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2011 from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Prior to joining CDA, Kenneth has interned at RoTo Architects, Inc. for Michael Rotondi, FAIA.

From 2009 to 2023, Kenneth has been involved in projects comprising a broad range of building types, including single-family residences, mixed-use commercial development, hotels, and office buildings. Kenneth’s projects include Hotel Indigo Anaheim, Wyndham Garden Hotel Anaheim, Colima Medical Office, and CCIC Offices-Rancho Cucamonga. His expertise has been critical to the success of numerous projects.

 

Don Mear

Director of Denver Metro Branch Office

Donald is a licensed architect in Arizona, California, Colorado and Washington. He obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1998 from the University of Idaho.

Donald has over twenty-four years of experience dating back to working as an intern architect at Pacific Design Group, Inc. While at Pacific design Group, Inc., he completed his NCARB registration and became a licesnsed architect, Director of the Norcal Office and moved on to become the Director of the Denver Metro Branch Office in Denver, CO. He is a talented Director of Operations with excellent customer service and facility oversight skills, focusing design team members on developing innovative and cost cutting apporaches with effective resource allocation and strategic planning. He monitors office workflow and administrative procedures, and QA/QC for the firm including drafting and BIM standards. Donald is a detail-oriented architect with vast experience designing and executing Schematic Design thru Construction Administration work for mission critical data centers (over 1 million SF to date), commercial spaces, hospitality, religious and acute/subacute hospitals (OSHPD experienced).
